Jim,

thanks for the excellent suggestions.

I privately email the persons with hacked email addresses.

Paul

And if you know the person whose account was hacked, please email them and let them know that their edress has been hacked. They often do not know their account has been compromised.

Also, choose stronger passwords. IF your password is not at least 8 characters and including numbers, letters (upper and lower case) and special symbols like #$%(*&, then it is a weak password and it is only a matter of time before YOUR account is hacked. And then your email will be spamming this listserve too.

Yes, this is spam and a dangerous one at that. Do not click on
the link!

These get through on the address of a real member. All posts must
come from a real members address. The usual case is that a members
email gets hacked and the hacker sends the spam or maleware to everyone
on that person's contact list (including MNBird).

If you see posts with a link to click on, DO NOT CLICK IT, unless you know
it is safe!

If your email gets hacked, and your email address sends out spam :
    1. scan your computer for viruses and maleware.
    2. change your email password with your email account, like gmail, yahoo, etc.

thanks for your patience.
