Woodcock Sky Dance Program7:30 PM, Saturday, April 21Houston Nature CenterThe sky dance of the American Woodcock is something everyone should see in their lifetime. The peenting on the ground, twittering flight, and liquid chirps while dropping back down to earth like a leaf are amazing to see. Houston is lucky enough to have a resident woodcock that has adopted South Park as its home, so his nightly performances are open to the public. Meet at the Houston Nature Center to get familiar with the American Woodcock before the show starts, then we'll carpool to South Park on the south side of Houston and wait patiently for the bird to strut his stuff. Binoculars will be available to borrow for the evening. This program is free and open to the public. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Hwys 16 & 76 in Trailhead Park in Houston. For more information call 507-896-4668 or e-mail nature at acegroup.cc.
