Bird & location the same. But I erred & found a 2007 version of the press release. DOH! Here's the right info!     **
The dance of the American woodcock

The sky dance of the American woodcock is something everyone should see in their lifetime. The presenting on the ground, twittering flight, and liquid chirps while dropping back down to earth like a leaf are amazing to see and hear.

On Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m., meet at the Houston Nature Center to get familiar with the American woodcock before the show starts, then we’ll carpool to a location a few miles outside of Houston and wait patiently for the bird to strut his stuff. Binoculars will be available to borrow for the evening.

This program is free and open to the public, but donations are gratefully accepted. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of highways 16 and 76 in Trailhead Park in Houston. For more information call 507-896-4668 or email nature at acegroup.cc
