[Mnbird] Bluebirds galore and a puzzling experience

Hello, burgers. I was greatly surprised yesterday to hear my first bluebirds of the season arriving in the neighborhood. Today there were even more of them around and it was a thrill to hear them. On another note, I had a very strange experience this evening. I went to check the nest box where are the tree swallows were. My husband and I open the box and the female was laying on top of the nest, presumably on her eggs. However, the nest box open from the front so my husband couldn’t see her very well. I put my hand in and touch the top of the nest and she was there. She did not move at all but I don’t think she was dead because there was no smell of death. Even after we close the box, she did not come out. My fear is that one of The pair of house runs nesting in the area may have attacked her in the nest. The only thing I can do is check in a couple days and see if she’s alive. There hasn’t been very much activity going on around the nest box either. Does anybody have any thoughts about this? I feel pretty worried but there’s not much I can do. Thanks for listening.
