A kind fellow birder I passed on the trail at Westwood Hills Nature Center
(St. Louis Park) yesterday alerted me to the presence of numerous Sora
Rails at Lake Camelot, Plymouth, MN. We went this morning and greatly
enjoyed watching the birds skip and hop from one lilypad to another, at
close range. Of course, there were many more than we actually saw, but we
had long enough views not to be disappointed.

The lake and park are at 14105 Cty. Rd. 47, but to see the Sora, you should
go to the parking lot at the southwest end of the lake (from Hwy 47, turn
south on Cheshire Parkway and it will be on your left). Walk out on the
boardwalk, especially to the far end, and watch for movement behind the
grasses. We saw them around 10:30, though they were perhaps the stragglers.
