Dr. Cohn-Haft will discuss the diversity of the Amazon, its size, tropical
climate, ecological heterogeneity, fine-tuned specializations, unique
river-delimited distribution patterns, and the threats that confront this
extraordinary ecosystem. His work is described in Elizabeth Kolbert’s
book, *The
Sixth Extinction*.
