[Mnbird] Question about Egrets

I was surprised this week to see a listing of a Great Egret in the eBird
Rare Bird Alert for Minnesota.  I have noticed that I'm not seeing Egrets
in the Twin Cities like I used to.  At most, I've seen two or three this
season.  In years past, I would see them frequently flying around town.
Can someone tell me what's happening?
