I have a wren nesting box on a shepherd hook in the back  yard.  In most years, it is used for the first batch of wrens, but this year it has nothing but a dummy nest.  A few days ago, the male was singing on the house, when a male downy landed on the house and wanted to look inside.  The wren buzzed him,  but the downy wasn't perturbed.  Then, a chickadee also landed on the tiny house; the wren promptly drove the chickadee away, and then the downy also left.  It was quite an interesting few seconds of nature.
