We have a flock of Common Redpolls, about 40, picking at ground seed from the feeders. When crossing the river on Cedar Ave (northbound) I saw a dozen or so swans on the north bank in a patch of open water. The woodpeckers are roosting on the sunny sides of the trees near the suet feeder this morning catching what little extra warmth they can find there. Some Chickadees are already starting to vocalize with their namesake song. Can spring be just around the corner? Is it too early to start thinking about the spring migration? Not for me..........
