[Mnbird] Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Grey Cloud Dunes, Washington County

Late this morning, a very co-operative Yellow-billed Cuckoo was engaged in
calling to another of its kind, in the NW area of Grey Cloud Dunes SNA. The
one seen was in a small deciduous tree that rises above the shrubbery, on
the east side of the path that parallels the small lake. (That path is the
one that proceeds south from the parking area at the intersection of Hadley
Ave. and 103rd St.) The bird was visible from the section just before the
path emerges into the open grasses.

The N. Mockingbird reported nearby earlier was possibly the "fly-by" that
passed from the shrubs further west, near the railroad underpass, over the
lake and into the trees on the east edge of the water. All that was
discernible was patches and flashes of white against dark gray, and a
longish tail. Some of the song-mimic I'd heard was more repetitious than
that of either Gray Catbird or Brown Thrasher, both of which were heard and
seen in many places.

In addition, all the other summer "regulars" were present and singing:
Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Eastern Towhee, Baltimore Oriole, Indigo Bunting,
House Wren, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellow-throat, and various Sparrows
(Song, Chipping, Clay-colored,, Grasshopper; I did not go listening/looking
for the Henslow's that are often on the top section of the dunes.)
