The Eider was present in Duluth on Monday but we did not see it at Canal Park.  We crossed the lift bridge onto Park Point, turned right on 8th ave. (which is a short dead end at the water).  It was there with Mallards, Pintails, and Black Ducks.  The Golden-crowned Sparrow was also present at the usual location.  A day in the Bog Tues. was a delight.  We missed owls (although we had a couple Snowys near the Superior Airport on Monday) but otherwise enjoyed as many Redpolls as I've even seen flocking everywhere, Evening Grossbeaks at Mary Lou's feeders only, Many Pine Siskins, Pine Grossbeaks, a lovely Piliated Woodpecker in a couple places, and lots of Chickadees - except no Boreals.  It was our first visit to Loretta's feeder station and it is just delightful.  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kelsey-Bird-Feeding-Station/649197695124935    Check it out.  The new Visitor Center in the bog north of Meadowlands is wonderful!!  We hope folks will contribute to these feeding stations because the cost of bird seed must be astronomical and we are gaining such benefit from them!!!!!!
Happy Birding to all!
