[Mnbird] Have all birds become Snowbirds?

Most years we can barely keep up with the birds eating all of the seeds in our large Droll Yankee feeder, and cannot keep up with the daily emptying of a smaller post feeder, one of those that looks like a little house (or maybe hog feeder).

This year, we have seen nary an English Sparrow, much less the usual crowd of Purple Finches, Sparrows of several varieties, Goldfinches, and the daily visit of a Nuthatch or two. The Juncos are also not cleaning up under the feeders, since no one is scattering seed.

Location is New Brighton. I have noticed that I am also not seeing birds in the Arbor Vitae or spruces on our mile dog walks, which are usually alive with mixed flocks of these winter hardy birds.

Feed is Beisswenger's Cherry Mix seed - a good mix that contains some dried cherries and smells great. The birds loved this before.

I think the sudden and very cold November moved our usual crowd further south.

Any ideas?
